I always screw up on the weekends. I was doing pretty good all week, but today we went out for lunch and I had a cheese quesadilla, and then when we got home my sister-in-law had made a pie for us to share and I had a piece of that too. I was 166 yesterday evening, so that’s good…but I don’t want to screw it up more. Tomorrow we’re going out to lunch with my parents to my favorite Chinese place near them, and I will get my favorite sesame mock chicken. So I will undoubtedly have gained a bit by Monday morning. I wish I could lose two pounds in one week consistently…it would be nice. I’ve been slacking off exercising, slacking off writing to my exercise buddy…I’m just feeling really dragged down with this. 8:28 pm § Permalink § Comments (12)

I was unable to bring up this blog for a day or two, so I couldn’t write anything. Anyway, it’s back now. Today I bought 7.34 pounds of white seedless grapes, which cost $7.20; I will let you know when I have finished them. It will only be a couple of days, I’m sure. I mentioned to my girlfriend that I thought I should learn how to slow the pace at which I eat grapes, both for my wallet and my health. She didn’t say anything about the price, but she pointed out that there are plenty of worse things I could be gobbling - M&Ms came to my mind - and that I probably wasn’t hurting myself by eating so many grapes. And yet I do wonder about the caloric content…sure, 1.5lbs of grapes has fewer calories than 1.5lbs of cheese, but that doesn’t mean it’s calorie-free by a long shot. 4:57 pm § Permalink § Comments (10)

I had been wanting an omelette for a couple of weeks, so yesterday morning we went to Bob Evans so I could get one. I made the mistake of asking about a vegetarian omelette rather than just getting a plain or cheese one, and even though the server said there were mushrooms in the garden omelette I ordered it anyway. When it arrived, it turned out there was also Hollandaise sauce on it - yuck! I ended up eating maybe half of the omelette, and not really enjoying it. I should have ordered something simple so I could have just eaten it and gotten what I wanted. The home fries weren’t very good and I left some of those too, but I ate both biscuits because I love biscuits. I weighed myself last night and I was 167. I had a couple of pieces of plain light bread before I went to sleep, and I weighed myself again and I was 168. I fretted as I tried to fall asleep…how could two pieces of bread caused me to gain a pound? My scale works in half-pound increments, but I couldn’t see how a few ounces would cause me to “gain” a pound. I was relieved this morning when the scale once again clocked me at 167. 9:50 am § Permalink § Comments (8)

Are any of my ChubBuddies reading this? If so please comment! I feel bad about neglecting a very supportive group of people, but I am involved in so many other things that they’ve been left behind. Tonight I have to remember to take Advil right when I get home, so I can hop on the elliptical trainer without my knees hurting. 8:36 am § Permalink § Comments (95)

Just for future reference, a single protein brownie from my beloved Energy Kitchen has 290 calories and 2g fat. This is actually pretty good, considering that these brownies are huge! (I forgot to ask how many grams of protein are in the protein brownies.) The nutritional info PDF on their site has stats on their wraps, burgers, and salads too. 5:53 pm § Permalink § Comments (14)

I found this great comic through my friend kingroll:

Well shit. I just ate about 2/3 of a pint of Ben and Jerry’s light mint chocolate cookie ice cream. I had the first third last night. I certainly didn’t mean to do that. I’ve been eating oddly all weekend…bah I know I will have gained this week. 12:58 pm § Permalink § Comments (10)

I had regular ice cream last night. To celebrate Yahoo’s 10th birthday they partnered with Baskin Robbins to give out free kiddie scoops of ice cream. I figured 2.5oz wasn’t likely to kill my diet, so I ordered chocolate peanut butter. I think the kid behind the counter gave me a regular (non-kiddie) scoop, though so I had more than I intended. I also had a single chocolate candy and half a chocolate praline cookie. So I ate more than I meant to of junky stuff. I also haven’t been drinking enough water - only one liter/day for the past few days, instead of two. Today a co-worker made me feel bad about myself at lunch so on the way back to training I got one of those Carborite cookies (120cal) and gobbled it right down. It didn’t make me feel much better. I haven’t been exercising either. I guess I’m feeling kind of overwhelmed and run down. Hopefully I will get to “recharge” this weekend. 9:26 pm § Permalink § Comments (9)

I ate my lunch way too fast. Gobble gobble, scarf scarf! I had a Kirkland shake (my lovely partner picked up a box of 24 at Costco for only $14) and some sugar-free jello. Not much, only about 250 calories, but I breezed through it very fast. I got an apple too, but I think I will save that for this afternoon or the car ride home. Oh, and I wrongfully accused my sister-in-law about the Toaster Pops. It turns out the missing one was hiding in the box all along! I’m a dorkmonkey. 12:34 pm § Permalink § Comments (12)
