I had been wanting an omelette for a couple of weeks, so yesterday morning we went to Bob Evans so I could get one. I made the mistake of asking about a vegetarian omelette rather than just getting a plain or cheese one, and even though the server said there were mushrooms in the garden omelette I ordered it anyway. When it arrived, it turned out there was also Hollandaise sauce on it - yuck! I ended up eating maybe half of the omelette, and not really enjoying it. I should have ordered something simple so I could have just eaten it and gotten what I wanted. The home fries weren’t very good and I left some of those too, but I ate both biscuits because I love biscuits. I weighed myself last night and I was 167. I had a couple of pieces of plain light bread before I went to sleep, and I weighed myself again and I was 168. I fretted as I tried to fall asleep…how could two pieces of bread caused me to gain a pound? My scale works in half-pound increments, but I couldn’t see how a few ounces would cause me to “gain” a pound. I was relieved this morning when the scale once again clocked me at 167. 9:50 am § Permalink §

We have a habit in writing articles published in scientific journals to make the work as finished as possible, to cover up all the tracks, to not worry about the blind alleys or describe how you had the wrong idea first, and so on. So there isn’t any place to publish, in a dignified manner, what you actually did in order to get to do the work. by backgamon

It wasn’t the 2 pieces of plain white bread but the very high amount of salt in the bread. That salt would cause you to retain water which would show on the scale.
Check out the nutrition label on the bread; also consider a wheat whole-grain bread.
