I always screw up on the weekends. I was doing pretty good all week, but today we went out for lunch and I had a cheese quesadilla, and then when we got home my sister-in-law had made a pie for us to share and I had a piece of that too. I was 166 yesterday evening, so that’s good…but I don’t want to screw it up more. Tomorrow we’re going out to lunch with my parents to my favorite Chinese place near them, and I will get my favorite sesame mock chicken. So I will undoubtedly have gained a bit by Monday morning. I wish I could lose two pounds in one week consistently…it would be nice.

I’ve been slacking off exercising, slacking off writing to my exercise buddy…I’m just feeling really dragged down with this.

  1. i do not think diet is a good word. keeping yourself health is a better word. when you want yourself to be healthy, excersing is not a problem and eating well

  2. True, but keeping myself healthy - which I usually do, I am the type to have an apple for dessert sometimes - isn’t making me lose weight at all.

  3. Hey - found you by accident on blogger and followed you over here. (We share similiar interests - Audre Lorde, ASL, etc.) Anyhow. Generally speaking, using the food pyramid is the way to go. If you follow it, you don’t have limit what you’re eating. Eating several meals during the day (6 or 7 small meals vs. 1 or 2 large meals or starving yourself) is better and keeps your body going. I have a friend who does not limit what she eats, but follows the kind and amount of what she’s supposed to eat everyday. She has lost 50 pounds this year. And she still eats what she wants. FYI. Be careful about getting obsessive. =)

  10. One problem you could be having is eating out too much. Cooking would solve a lot of these problems plus save some cash. It is ok to eat some treats as long as the overall day is good.

  12. Weekends are tough for most people because the influence of friends and going out on the town. You can make mistakes as long as you don’t eat bad the entire day. A piece of pie is not bad as long as you balance it with something healthy for your other meals.
